Baseball great Barry Bonds generally makes the news for reasons that are less than honorable but are you getting the full story? He has quietly pledged to pay the college costs for two children whose father was attacked on opening day of the baseball season outside LA’s Dodgers stadium.
“It was extraordinary of Barry Bonds, I thought. He didn’t say anything about it to the press. This was just a gift he gave the family.”
The 42-year-old San Francisco Giants fan was hospitalized in April but remains under heavy sedation to prevent seizures caused by the traumatic brain injury.
Bonds is not the only member of the Giant organization who has reached out to the single father and his two small children. Several members of the current team have visited the man’s family and donated to a fund created to help cover medical expenses.
