Switchfoot frontman Jon Foreman recently released, Summer, the last of his four solo, seasonally-themed EPs. Each of the EPs, Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer, are deeply intimate, and as Forman says, autobiographical.
Lyrically, Summer is like viewing Foreman’s private diary, filled with questions and prayers, and, like the other EPs, deeply personal ponderings and yearnings. Musically, the EP is varied, from an almost mournful, mariachi sound on “A Mirror Is Harder To Hold” to an upbeat “Resurrect Me” to simple, organic and worshipful “Again.”
Truly beautiful, and my pick of the week.
The six song EP is available now in digital format, and releases June 24 in a 2-disc Spring and Summer set.
