INO Records’ artist Laura Story will appear on Crystal Cathedral’s “Hour of Power” this Saturday and Sunday, July 26 & 27. She’ll performing “Indescribable” and “Perfect Peace,” both from her debut album Great God Who Saves.
While this is Story’s debut album she’s no stranger to the music industry. She’s the songwriter, for example, who penned the song “Indescribable,” made famous by Chris Tomlin. She’s also written song recorded by Andrew Peterson, Avalon and Caedmon’s Call. Back in the 90s, she was part of the band Silars Bald (who released a project that I loved and still have, actually). In an interview with Christianity Today, she says:
“We were independent at the time and had this fixation with being on a record label and having a national platform. I’m so glad that God didn’t give us that at that time. I’m now 30 years old and it’s not like I feel equipped to have a national platform, but I’m definitely more equipped than when I was 20.”
Her music is a lovely mix of acoustic and piano-driven worship and folk with hints of bluegrass. The album’s current single “Mighty To Save” hit No. 1 at R&R Soft AC/Inspo chart, Top 10 AC-Indicator and Top 20 AC-Monitored.
“Hour of Power” airs on Saturday at 6PM (CST) on TBN and Sunday at 8AM (EST)/(PST) on Lifetime. Check for your local TV listings and times by visiting www.crystalcathedral.org/hour_of_power/tvlisting/index.php.
