Get ready, red- and battleground-state Christian radio fans. David Brody, at CBNNews.com, says new radio ads supporting Barak Obama are coming to a Christian radio station near you. The ads are from the Matthew 25 Network political action committee, and will begin airing in Michigan, Colorado, Ohio, Missouri, Indiana, Virginia and North Carolina. Don’t live in those states (or listen to Christian radio)? Here’s the audio of the ads. The first, sharing Obama’s Christian faith story:Brody points to two more ads that will also air, including this one from “pro-life conservative legal scholar Douglas Kmiec” who answers the question, Can you be pro-life and support Obama?:The last is from former Congressman and pro-life Democrat Tony Hall from Dayton, OH:Personally, I don’t care one way or the other if a politician wants to air ads on Christian radio. If the listeners are actually in his demographic base, then it makes sense to go ahead and reach them via this medium. But if you read the stats about who listens to Christian radio, I don’t know if Christian radio listeners are necessarily in the Obama demographic. They’re older, conservative, and listening to biblical teaching on Christian radio. Obama supporters seems to be younger and more liberal than the typical Christian radio listener. (Besides, did you see the Manifest Obama “envision Obama as President”, “Sanctuary” worship song video? Some are even more cuckoo than radical right wingers.)Seems to me like this might be a last minute attempt to reach religious voters, which begs this question: For a guy who supposedly has the election locked up, why does he even need to make a pitch to religious voters? But hey, I’m a skeptic at heart so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
