The award-winning CompassionArt charity is giving away 100 million brand new songs from its upcoming CompassionArt: Creating Freedom From Poverty CD/DVD. The CompassionArt songs will be available for a limited time only.
Well, I say free, but really you’re being asked to make a donation of any amount to CompassionArt. It’s a great offer nonetheless, because all of the money made from the music on the CompassionArt album goes to charity. So this is a great way for you to not only get a preview of the album, which releases in the US January 27 at both digital and physical retail outlets, but also donate to a really worthy cause. (The album released in November in Europe, Scandinavia,Asia, Africa, South America, Australia and New Zealand.)
The first single from the album, “King of Wonders,” can be heard right now on Christian radio. The 12 CompassionArt songwriters have also written compelling, candid stories for a companion book, The Art of Compassion, which will release simultaneously with the album. This book tells firsthand accounts of extreme poverty around our planet as these songwriters move from ignorance and apathy through paralyzing awareness and end with a call to action, showing us the brutal cost of comfort in the Western world.
You can see all of the ministries and charities that will benefit from the CompassionArt project at this post I did a few weeks ago. Basically, each of the dozen artists involved chose a charity that is dear to their hearts, and portion of the proceeds goes to them. The rest benefits four charities chosen collectively by the group.
