OK, OK, I confess. I’m a huge fan of the ABC show “Pushing Daisies” and was really ticked when I saw last week that they’re not renewing the show.
What does that have to do with Christian music? Well, the role of Olive Snook is played by accomplished actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth, who in 2005 released a solo album of contemporary Christian songs and hymns called As I Am.
Chenoweth has a long history on stage and screen, peforming in as Glinda in the Broadway production of Wicked and in numerous movies and TV shows.
What’s really interesting is that if you were a fan of “Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip,” you might have heard that the character of Harriet Hayes bears a striking resemblence to Chenoweth’s life; could be because Chenoweth used to date the show’s producer and writer, Aaron Sorkin.
I just love Kristen Chenoweth, and love seeing her on “Pushing Daisies,” so I’m hoping you’ll join me and head over to TVGuide.com to and cast a vote to show support. There’s also an online petition to “Save Pushing Daisies” – if you’re into that, you can add your name to the list of more than 56,000 other fans of the show. Or you can just go to ABC.com and send the execs a letter asking them to save the show.
