MaryMarycoverTheSound.jpgOn Friday, January 30, 2009, the 10th Anniversary Super Bowl Gospel Celebration will take place at the University of South Florida’s SunDome, in Tampa, Florida. The event is part of the festivities leading up to the Super Bowl. The event is the first and only gospel event sanctioned by the NFL for Super Bowl Weekend.
Last year, the event debuted the NFL Players All-Star Choir, featuring more than 40 players league stars and longtime event supporters such as Michael Gaines (Bills), Ovie Mughelli (Falcons), Richard Seymour (Patriots), Troy Vincent (Redskins/Retired), and Pro Bowlers Tommie Harris (Bears) and Ray Lewis (Ravens). The choir was directed by Donnie McClurkin, who returns this year to lead another choir of NFL All-Stars.
Artists scheduled to appear include McClurkin, Marvin Sapp, Mary Mary and Hezekiah Walker. For more information on the 10th Anniversary Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, visit the event’s website.
