MaryMarycoverTheSound.jpg The NAACP Image Awards were handed out last night, and Jennifer Hudson took home three awards, for Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration on her song “I’m His Only Woman” featuring Fantasia; Outstanding New Artist; and Outstanding Album.
Mary Mary took home the award for Outstanding Gospel Artist – Traditional or Contemporary.
While she didn’t win, Jordin Sparks was nominated for her duet with Chris Brown, “No Air”. Gospel artist Omega Bugembe Okello’s Kiwomera Emmeeme was nominated for Outstanding World Music Album.
The NAACP Image Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements and performances of
people of color in the arts (motion picture, television, recording, and literature), as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors.
