Tonight, American Idol’s Group 3 competes to fill the next 3 spots in the Top 12 (you can join me tonight LIVE and comment during the show). We get the results tomorrow, on Wednesday … and then the Wild Card on Thursday?
Yup, that’s right! MTV.com reports that each judge will get to pick two contestants from the Top 36 (with maybe one more thrown in for good measure) – so no, Jamar would not be eligible but, gasp, Tatiana delToro is – and they come back on Thursday, March 5 to compete. The results will happen right then, just the same way they did during audition week. In the event of a 2-2 tie between the judges, Simon’s vote is the deciding one.
That means that at the end of Thursday’s show, we’ll have our Top 12.
I think Anoop is a no brainer as a judge’s pick, as is Ricky Braddy. And unless they are absolutely terrible, they’re a shoo-in for the Top 12. I’m hoping Norman Gentle comes back; the show is just so much more fun when he’s there. I’d like Jasmine Murray to get another chance; she has a good voice but I think nerves got the best of her. We’ll have to see who doesn’t get through tonight’s Group 3 round to see who else the judges might pick.
Who are you hoping they bring back? You can check out all of the Top 36 contestants on the American Idol website!
