iShine’s teen pop duo Jonnie & Brookie were recently announced as Radio Disney’s “Next Big Thing” (N.B.T.). The listener poll, which tabulated nearly 9 million online and text-message votes, spotlights young recording artists and allows them to get their music heard on a national level. Jonnie Allen, 16, who along with her sister, Brookie Allen, 14, make up the duo, told Arizona’s East Valley Tribune, “It’s a pretty big deal. We’re pretty excited. One of the prizes is that we get to open for a big artist. We don’t know anything about the specifics yet, but that’s really exciting. And they played our song on the radio; that was the first time we’d ever heard our music on the radio.” The duo edged out three front-runners in the Radio Disney contest: AllStar, Bre Morgan and Comic Book Heroes. The contest ran for 22 weeks and featured 11 unsigned young artists or acts. Jonnie and Brookie can be seen on iShine KNECT, which airs every Saturday at 10:30 am CST on TBN, as well as in the upcoming iShine Live concert also on TBN. Their music will also appear in upcoming iShine projects including iShine Next, Up and Coming Stars With A Message. The record will feature songs performed by new artists on iShine KNEC, including Jonnie and Brookie, Logan Charles, Kylie Jean, Kelsey Muse, Josiah Rea and Cooper and Gatlin. You can learn more about Jonnie & Brookie on their website.
