Life presents so many choices to us each and every day.  In today’s world of technology, the internet, tv, radio, movies and videos, printed media and books, billboards, cell phones, etc. it is so easy to be distracted.  You can become lost in the fast pace of life or to think that unimportant things are important.  Money, sex and power can be so alluring and glamorous and our society spends so much time, energy and money focused on these subjects.  But are they the ultimate outcome of life?

You see, being present empowers you to be in touch with the optimal flow of energy, information and choices in your life.  Being present allows you to be here and attentive to whatever is happening so that you can respond appropriately and have the best possible life operating from your intuition and knowing (heart & spirit) instead of just from you mind.  Being present and connected to your intuition also brings us in alignment and communication with the divine energy of God or infinite intelligence.  It gives us the opportunity for our highest quality of life and transformation.

If we allow ourselves to be lost in the past or future of our mind, or become engrossed with life’s many distractions we can miss the true purpose of our lives.  This brings us to a very important subject:

What is the purpose for your life?

Why are you here?  Why are you on this planet?  Do you really feel or believe that your life’s purpose is to collect the most toys or material possessions, or make a lot of money and live a cool lifestyle?  Is it really about the amount of money you make, the house you live in, the car you drive or your job title?  I am not saying that we do not have to take care of our basic needs of food, shelter and the necessities in life.  I am saying that it is good and even important to live a healthy and prosperous life, but that does not mean being unbalanced or compulsive to attain material possessions in a way that is unhealthy or addictive.  At the end of your physical life do you think people will remember you because of the clothes you wear, or the amount of power you have because of your money, income, job or status?

What people will remember about you is how you made them feel and the contribution that you made to their lives and this world.

Our families and schools should ask us this question and we should be guided to discover this very important priority for our lives.  Although The Game of Life can be very confusing and people can have so many different priorities, at the end of the day it comes down to the reality that we have a higher purpose for being here other than to just survive, live a nice lifestyle and make a lot of money.

‘There is a fundamental purpose of our lives.  To know it, we must understand where life comes from and where it is going, look beyond our immediate goals to what we ultimately want to accomplish and consider life’s highest potential for development.’

So when you look at what is your commitment for your life, it is important to see clearly and understand that you have a powerful purpose and a heroic mission for your life.  Once you start to discover your purpose and heroic mission, your life takes on a powerful and exciting new focus and direction.  You start to see a bigger picture and a bigger game.  You begin to tap into your full, creative potential.

smiles,
