Communication is your key to success in all areas of your life.  Your communication with yourself and others creates your reality, all outcomes and opportunities.  The most important person you communicate with is YOU!   Before you can accomplish anything for yourself or effectively communicate and work with anyone else, you must be clear and congruent with YOU!

Your focused attention, thoughts and beliefs and being present all greatly impact your communication and development.  By mastering these areas you improve the quality of your communication with yourself and others.  You also improve the results you achieve.

When you start to consciously observe your beliefs and thoughts and where you focus your attention, you will soon discover your “self-talk.”  Your self-talk is the voice you hear inside.  Notice how it comments on almost everything.  Is your self-talk positive or negative?  Are you empowering yourself to win or are you sabotaging your success before you even start?

It is wise not to underestimate the power of your self-talk and what you acknowledge about yourself, others or situations and outcomes.  Positive self-talk empowers your self-esteem, self-confidence and self-image.  What would happen if you could harness the power of your self-talk to create successful results?

Napoleon Hill was one of the pioneers of the idea that you can reprogram your brain with autosuggestion and shares this potent information in his bestselling book, Think and Grow Rich.  In 1908, Hill met the billionaire Andrew Carnegie.  Carnegie seemed suitably impressed and asked Hill if he would spend over twenty years, without pay, studying the minds of rich and successful people.  Instead of pay, Carnegie provided him with the contacts and the means to approach all these successful people.

Hill spent twenty-five years studying more than 500 rich and successful people.  These people included such legends as Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Theodore Roosevelt and Alexander Bell.  Hill didn’t simply observe these people from afar, he spent hours and hours over many years right by their side, watching, learning, and asking questions to discover what made them successful.

“It is a well known fact that one comes, finally, to BELIEVE whatever one repeats to one’s self, whether the statement be true or false.  If a man repeats a lie over and over, he will eventually accept the lie as truth.  Moreover, he will BELIEVE it to be the truth. Every man is what he is, because of the DOMINATING THOUGHTS which he permits to occupy his mind.

Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

                                                Napoleon Hill

So thinking positively is an absolute must, as is thinking about what you want, rather than thinking about what you don’t want.  Be specific.  All you need to do is convince your mind.  Repetition is the mother of skill.
