For now my travels have brought me to the holy land, Israel.

I am in Jerusalem until next week.

My visit coincided with the Pope’s – he’s been here praying for peace.

We arrived on the same day – no connection to my visit apparently (!!). He is surrounded by an entourage of security, and they brought in 10 000 soldiers to protect him! On the street, people were excited about his arrival. Roads closed down and there was traffic in anticipation.

The Pope met with leaders from different political factions as well as religious leaders. He prayed at the Western Wall, which faces the site of the Second Temple.

Perhaps the time for peace is now?
