Is this a message?

Is this a divine statement?

We have an opportunity now to use this time for our own growth. We have time to have conversations that we wouldn’t normally have. We have a time to reflect, to meditate, to reconsider our choices. We have time to create a new path for ourselves personally and for humanity. We have the time now to make a positive change. Let’s use our opportunity for the good.

A reminder that we need nature and biodiversity and to protect our precious planet. One proposal is to create half of the planet as a protected zone. Perhaps this is another opportunity for drastic collective actions. Small actions are not going to have a lasting effect. The economic “growth at all costs” mindset is neither durable nor sustainable. Nor is it wise. If we fight over short term profits with no long term vision, we will end up fighting over gold whilst the charcoal-burned last tree stands and we can’t breathe as there’s no more oxygen. What kind of planet will that be?

All the softly-gently platitudes aren’t going to move governments into action. We need them to really get the message that we care for our environment and we’re not going away. Capitalism without conscience is no better than any other system without a conscience. If we cannot add the heart, the soul and the ethics, then we are not able to manage each other or husband the earth’s resources. Our planet is not for sale – our environment is not for profit, and that’s non-negotiable.
