The saying is no cliche. Apples can indeed do a great deal for your health if you include them in your regular diet.

The skin of this fruit contains antioxidant quercetin which has anti-inflammatory and antihistamine properties. This means that eating apples can help with your symptoms of arthritis as well as allergies.

Apples also contain both insoluble and soluble fiber, which are important for reducing your risk of cancer, asthma, cholesterol, blood pressure, heart diseases and type II diabetes.

The insoluble fiber in apples also helps promote regular bowel movements, and as such is helpful whether you have constipation or diarrhea.

For maximal health benefits, eat your apples in their fresh form!
