If you have poor digestive health, miso is a fermented food taste made from soybeans, rice and mold that could be beneficial to you.
One of the foods made from soybean that is widely considered healthy (not all soybean foods are considered healthy by some natural health practitioners), miso is not only tasty but also helps support the friendly bacteria in your gut.
The beneficial enzymes, lactobacillus and other microorganisms found in the taste makes it easier for miso and all other foods eaten with it to be digested. In addition, it seems that the live culture in the miso can actually help to fend off and destroy other harmful microorganisms in your digestive tract.
Miso is also rich in nutrients, such as minerals like zinc, manganese, phosphorus, iron and copper. It is also a potential source of protein and vitamin B12 (especially for vegetarians).
