After a season full of forgotten lyrics, horrible auditions, restarted songs, and more, “American Idol 7” is down to two contestants: David Cook and David Archuleta. Cook, 25, is a Missouri native who has played in rock bands and nailed covers of unusual song choices like Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby.” Archuleta, 17, is Utah high school student who won “Star Search” as a kid and whose interfering father was banned from being backstage.
