Thought you had it tough raising your kids? Try raising 8! On the hit TLC TV show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” we see married couple Jon and Kate Gosselin go through the daily struggles–and, of course, the daily joys–of raising their adorable children: 8-year-old twins Cara and Mady, and 4-year-old sextuplets Leah, Hannah, Alexis, Aaden, Collin, and Joel.
In their new book, “Multiple Blessings: Surviving to Thriving with Twins and Sextuplets,” Kate Gosselin talks about the infertility treatments she underwent in order to become pregnant and the how the couple’s strong Christian faith has helped them make it through tough times.
I recently had the chance to interview Kate and she told me a bit about her favorite family Christmas traditions.
“I love Christmas. I started probably the year the little kids were born. I wanted to make Christmas as special as I could on a low budget for Mady and Cara.
“I started making sticky buns from scratch on Christmas morning and hot chocolate. That’s our standard breakfast that started that year. We have a little routine where we open our stockings and we eat our breakfast. It’s just all about routine on Christmas, and the memories, and just having fun.
“Anything goes on Christmas. If you wanna eat pie for lunch, you can do it. The day of Christmas is [when we have] our main traditions. Last year we started Christmas caroling and baking cookies and taking those cookies that night as we Christmas carol. We’ll do that again this year.”
Stay tuned for the full-length interview with Kate Gosselin, coming soon.
