angelsanddemonspic2foric.jpgAccording to an article from the Associated Press, the folks in Rome aren’t worried about the new Dan Brown movie, “Angels & Demons,” which premiered there on Monday, reporting that:
“Reviewers at the Vatican’s newspaper have passed judgment on “Angels & Demons,” finding the religious thriller commercial and inaccurate, but concluding it is “harmless” entertainment and not a danger to the church…The film offers “more than two hours of harmless entertainment, which hardly affects the genius and mystery of Christianity,” L’Osservatore’s reviewer wrote. It’s “a videogame that first of all sparks curiosity and is also, maybe, a bit of fun.”
How about that? After all the hoopla leading up to the anticipated controversial “Angels & Demons” release next week in the US, preceded by the Vatican’s negative response to movie of Dan Brown’s novel, “The Da Vinci Code,” I have to admit–I’m a little surprised. Are you?
