Rapper Chris Brown has copped a deal after pleading guilty to one felony count of assault on ex-girlfriend, singer Rihanna. He received probation, community service, and will need to attend domestic-violence counseling. He faced more than 4 years in jail had he been convicted on the charges.
Rihanna didn’t seem to care that Brown got off with a slap on the wrist, telling the judge “Thank you very much.”
This is just the latest example of a how a celebrity–or really anyone with money–can break the law and get a slap on the wrist for it. It’s completely disgusting. And Rihanna? Why didn’t she fight harder to have Brown do time? I certainly wouldn’t have been satisfied with the deal Brown got had I been the victim.
