On Sunday, August 30th, National Geographic Channel will be airing “The Human Family Tree,” narrated by Kevin Bacon, which travels to ethnic and cultural melting pot Queens, NY to “demonstrate how we all share common ancestors who embarked on very different journeys.” The show’s focus is The Genographic Project–a joint endeavor between The National Geographic Channel and IMB–which aims to help us better understand ourselves and where our ancestors came from. This is done through DNA samples, which have been collected from over 350,000 people from around the world so far. Through NatGeo’s website, you can even purchase a “Participation Kit” so that you can take your own sample of DNA and have your genetic lineage analyzed and included in the project.Check out this trailer from “The Human Family Tree”:
