Pirate rockstar Jack Sparrow is back in theaters today with Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. In fact, the rest of Hollywood is so terrified of it that it is the ONLY movie opening in theaters today. The question is: do we care?

The first film was a lovely, goofy popcorn romp with pirates and ghosts and swordfights Oh My! The second and third… not so much. In fact, as I try to recall the plots of the latter films, all I can come up with is “giant squid.” So will this fourth outing return the series to its former glory? Or will it be yet another example of a franchise long overstaying its welcome?
