thw-witness-wore-red-rebecca-musser-The Witness Wore Red is a riveting, harrowing tale of Rebecca Musser, who fled a polygamist cult and their leader, Warren Jeffs.

Raised in the Fundamentalist Church of the Latter Day Saints (FLDS), a sect of the Mormon Church, Musser shares the sexual and emotional abuse she suffered since childhood and the forced marriage to 85-year-old Rulon Jeffs in her late teens.

Following his death seven years later, his son, Warren Jeffs would impose a terrifying level of control over the FLDS that was palpable but hard to dismantle, exploiting the wives (67) of his father.

Musser’s testimony is a nightmarish telling of a culture that she not only lived through, but escaped. Her courage resulted in the arrest and conviction of Jeffs, who was charged with multiple accounts of sexual assault.

A recent Lifetime film, Outlaw Prophet: Warren Jeffs, centers on his rise and fall in the FLDS church. Jeff is played by Scandal actor, Tony Goldwyn. Catch a clip of the movie below:

The Witness Wore Red is written by Rebecca Musser, published by Grand Central Publishing.
