19 American luminaries of the baby boom years (1946-1964) share their personal stories and achievements in the inspiring documentary, The Boomer List.

Part of the American Masters series on PBS, The Boomer List invites viewers into the lives of a generation that were present during poignant moments of American history and culture.

Filmmaker and director of the documentary, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, wanted a film that “captures the boomer generation’s dynamic spirit.”

Some of the subjects include: Deepak Chopra, Eve Ensler, Samuel L. Jackson, Amy Tan, Erin Brokovich, Steve Wozniak, Julieanna Richardson, Tommy Hilfiger, and many more.

They openly discuss key topics that impacted their lives, and how they defined the American dream for themselves.

Stunning black and white portraits of the individuals featured are interspersed throughout the documentary, along with other exceptional baby boomers who were not interviewed.

The Boomer List is a celebration of this generation’s impact on American culture,” says Michael Kantor, executive producer of American Masters. “It is impossible to encapsulate in just a few words, but thanks to the talent both on camera and behind the lens, this remarkable film offers an incredible chorus of voices that somehow captures the zeitgeist of this era.”

American Masters: The Boomer List, premieres nationwide Tuesday, September 23, 9-10:30 p.m. on PBS (check local listings).
