Stephen Collins, notable actor and director, is under fire for child abuse allegations made by his wife Faye Grant. Collins’ lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is arguing that Grant has made several threats to Collins over the past few years, that she would release the audio tapes of Collins confessing to molesting children – if he didn’t pay her a settlement.
In a statement Kaplan said, “When these demands were rebuffed, Faye attempted – without success – to peddle the tape in numerous ways to numerous different people. It appears that she has finally found an audience for this tape – not surprisingly, on the eve of the trial in the divorce case where, again, she is seeking millions of dollars more than that to which she is legally entitled.”
Grant has refuted the settlement rumors and released a declaration advising she is, “sickened by Stephen’s actions.” She says, “I have urged Stephen multiple times to seek treatment for pedophilia, but “he has refused to seek proper help or hospitalization for the predilection toward children.”
The NYPD have the tape, and opened an investigation on the allegations against Collins. Sources have confirmed the NYPD have flown to L.A. and interviewed Grant. In a statement the NYPD advise the tape reveals “at least 3 victims” and the nature of the investigation is “inappropriate sexual contact with minors.”
One of the alleged victims is the relative of Collins’ first wife, who reported the molestation in 2012. Based on the audio, the molestation occurred decades ago.
Collins has since stepped down from his position with the National Board of the Screen Actors Guild. Based on the interaction with several child actors, many are speculating Collins’ involvement with other children – as he worked closely with children actors on a regular basis.
The allegations have also caused Collins to be fired from “Ted 2”, in addition he was wiped from the website of the Committee For Stress-Free Schools – where he had been a Co-Director. The committee is part of the David Lynch Foundation.
The TV Guide Network has also decided to cease any further airings of the popular Seventh Heaven series, until further investigation and evidence is revealed. The series made Collins mainstream and launched his career. Many looked to his character, Eric Camden – he portrayed the father and a man of God.
