Oprah Winfrey will present Belief – a new week long documentary series on Sunday, October 18th at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the OWN Network. The docu-series will explore beliefs all around the world and identify the meaning behind each faith and the overall connection that a belief can have on society. “Belief” describes the core of spiritual practices, while also revealing the vulnerability that each faith has on its believers.
In a statement released by OWN Winfrey said, “For the past three years, my team and I have been working to find the most compelling and thoughtful stories of faith, love and devotion from around the world. This truly has been my heart’s work, to be able to share stories like these that reflect our world and explore humankind’s ongoing search to connect with something greater than ourselves.”
“Belief” digs deep by identifying the roots of various beliefs and how individuals are changed within the practice of their foundation. Regardless of what faith is being discussed, witnessing the power of belief is ground breaking and truly compelling because the hope and possibilities that are provided is universal. The docu-series allows viewers to experience the love and strength that is shared across the board regardless if you identify yourself as a Christian, Buddhist or Muslim.
Each episode, of the series, provides a journey that can be identified with across the world. Ultimately, the “Belief” series spreads the message that it’s not what you believe in yet rather the power that a belief possesses. “Belief” explores the story behind faith and brings light to the various practices that exist within the world. The docu-series provides documented proof that there is a commonality between all beliefs. Winfrey’s vision of the world living in a more unified nature is visual and can be thoroughly appreciated with “Belief.”
