Oprah Winfrey is emptying her closets and auctioning the beautiful items at eBay with all proceeds going to benefit Oprah’s Leadership Academy for Girls, in South Africa. Oprah closed down the Harpo Studies and decided to part with her beautiful pieces in order to further aid the education of young children in her school. Oprah’s digital auction is live and ready to make some lucky woman’s closet very happy.

In an interview discussing the auction Oprah said, “I just don’t need all this intense color, the embellishment, the heels anymore. When you’re in front of TV cameras every day, you have to stand out, but I’m in a different place now, and those things no longer serve me.” She went on to say, “I was holding on to clothes that were all about a dream I had for myself. I chose them for this idea I’d gotten into my head of how someone like me was supposed to live, but they had nothing to do with my actual life.”

The auction includes items from designer faves such as Gianfranco, Chanel and Manolo Blahnik.

Feeling inspired? Oprah is encouraging her supporters to follow suite by doing some spring cleaning of their own. If you’d also like to support Oprah Winfrey’s Leadership Academy for Girls, you can sell your apparel for a good cause.
