Halloween simply would not be the same without costumes. Sure, you could still tell scary stories, eat candy and decorate your dining room so it looks like a mad scientist’s laboratory, but that laboratory is missing something unless it is filled with witches, vampires, zombies and the occasional obscure movie character that everyone else at the party pretends to recognize. Almost everyone understands this fact, so costumes have become synonymous with Halloween. Not everyone, however, knows what they want to be for Halloween right away. Some people are not sure until the actual holiday. If you are still running short of ideas, here are what most people are thinking of wearing based on the most searched Halloween costumes for 2018.

#1 Fortnight

The online game has taken the world by storm, but children and teens are especially interested in it. They are also the ones who are going to be dressing up in the greatest numbers. As such, you are almost guaranteed to see a Fortnight costume this Halloween.

#2 Spiderman

The friendly neighborhood Spiderman is always a popular character on Halloween with his distinctive costume and enviable powers. The Marvel character, however, has gotten a fresh burst of energy with his addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Spidey is especially likely to be gracing your front porch this Halloween given Tom Holland’s improvised one liner stole the show in “Infinity War” and brought theaters to tears.

#3 Unicorn

Not everyone wants to be scary or heroic on Halloween. Some people just want to be pretty and have a little touch of the mystical. Do not be surprised, however, if the unicorns you see at the company party look awfully human. Unicorn makeup has become surprisingly popular as has the ability to shape your hair into a horn on your forehead.

#4 Dinosaur

Dinosaurs have been almost every child’s favorite animal at least once. Given that “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” came out over the summer, there might well be a hungry T-Rex or clever Velociraptor wandering through your neighborhood on Halloween.

#5 Witch

Halloween is made for hocus-pocus-hijinks, and no one does it better than a witch. The image of a broomstick riding woman has been a classic Halloween costume for decades, and it continues to be popular today. The black cat, however, is optional.

Halloween is right around the corner, but there is still time to pull your costume together. Pick from the most popular costumes or create your own. On Halloween, the only limit is your imagination.
