Contemporary Christian artist Zach Williams recently released a music video with country music legend Dolly Parton of their duet of ‘There Was Jesus’.

This song is a big reminder that during these uncertain times, God is present.

The powerful lyrics include the words…

“In the waiting, in the searching

In the healing and the hurting

Like a blessing buried in the broken pieces

Every minute, every moment

Of where I been and where I’m going

Even when I didn’t know it

Or couldn’t see it

There was Jesus”

Williams shared that he wrote the song to speak about his own journey. When he finished writing the worship son, he told his producer that he thought Parton would be the perfect fit for the song.

All Parton needed to hear was the first verse of the song and she knew she needed to be included, ultimately lending her voice.

Williams was so excited to get the opportunity to work with her on the track.

The music video has now been viewed close to 2 million times!

There are countless verses in scripture that refer to the ways that God is not only present, but also good to us, especially during tough times.

Philippians 4:19 says, “My God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” God never gives us what He knows would harm us.

God distinguishes between our wants and our needs, and He is concerned with every part of our being. God provides for us beyond anything we can ask or imagine.

He uses the tough times to not only shape, but also transform our lives. What a mighty God we serve!
