The highly anticipated film that premiered on BYUtv last December returns this year, now becoming an annual holiday tradition.

Christmas Jars follows the story of an aspiring journalist, Hope Jensen (Jeni Ross), who is looking to uncover the remarkable secret behind a holiday phenomenon: glass jars filled with bills and coins anonymously left for people in need.

When Jensen suffers a personal tragedy, she is gifted a jar unexpectedly. After realizing the story could be her big break, she decided to go undercover to learn more about the history of the jars. She had no idea how attached she would become to the story, the closer she gets to uncovering the truth.

The story is based on the beloved novel by Jason Wright. It was released theatrically through Fathom Events in November 2019. After playing for one night only in over 800 locations, the film brought in a surprising $459,000, which ranked it 6th in the nation. It also earned a higher per-screen average than Hollywood blockbusters like Joker, Terminator: Dark Fate, and Maleficent 2.

Now, Christmas Jars is a fan favorite, especially for those who love holiday movies. As it returns this year, it now has a set place as an annual Christmas tradition.

This incredible Christmas drama is one you don’t want to miss! The film is available now to stream on the BYUtv app.
