After a tumultuous scandal-ridden year, the Hollywood Foreign Press is pressing forward with the 79th annual ceremony with 21 new members in its’ association. The 2022 Golden Globe nominees were unveiled via live stream from Beverly Hills presented by the new president Helen Hoehne and special guest Snoop Dogg.

Winners will be announced on Sunday, January 9th, 2022 but the location of the event has yet to be disclosed. In an interesting turn of events this year, submissions were not required for award nominations. Instead, the Hollywood Foreign Press obliged studios and filmmakers that requested their content to only get nominated in specific categories.

WandaVision is expected to win big at the ceremony as the show has been praised by both fans and critics for the explosive chemistry between Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda and Paul Bettany’s Vision.

Benedict Cumberbatch is expected to win the race for best actor in a drama for his role in “Dog” but that category has some tough competition including Will Smith for “King Richard”, Mahershala Ali for “Swan Song”, Javier Bardem for “Being the Ricardos”, and Denzel Washington for “The Tragedy of Macbeth”.
