Sandra Bullock’s longtime partner, Bryan Randall, sadly passed away after a three-year battle with ALS. “It is with great sadness that we share that on August 5th Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a 3 year battle with ALS,” said his family in a statement. They continued by saying, “Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request. We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours. At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.” His family requested not to send any flowers or gifts, but to donate in Bryan’s behalf to ALS Research and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Bullock and Randall began dating back in 2015. According to People magazine, the pair first met when Randall, who was a photographer, was hired to take photos for her son’s birthday party. Bullock has two adopted children: Louis, 13, and Laila, 10, while Randall has one daughter, Skylar, from a previous relationship. Bullock adopted Louis in 2010 and Laila in 2015, saying her decision to adopt her daughter did not involve Randall at all. “I had Louis first. Then when I met him, we hadn’t been together that long and I said, ‘Remember that NDA you signed when you photographed my son? You know that still holds…because I’m bringing home a child when I come back from Toronto,'” said the actress while appearing on “Red Table Talk” in December 2021. She gushed over Randall saying he was “very patient. A saint. He has evolved on a level that is not human.” They remained fairly private about their relationship over the years, with Bullock calling him the “love of her life” in a recent interview. “I found the love of my life. We share two beautiful children – three children, [Randall’s] older daughter. It’s the best thing ever,” said Bullock. On the topic of marriage, Bullock spoke about her choice not to tie the knot with Randall saying, “I don’t want to say do it like I do it, but I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother. I don’t need to be told to be ever present in the hardest of times. I don’t need to be told to weather a storm with a good man.”
