From Olympic medals to engagement rings, Team USA sprinter Noah Lyles is embarking on a new chapter in his life. Lyles proposed to fellow Olympian Junelle Bromfield in a romantic moment caught on camera, and the two are now officially set to head down the aisle.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Lyles posted a video of the heartwarming proposal that took place the day before. With a backdrop of a heart-shaped floral display and the words “Will you marry me?” Lyles dropped to one knee and proposed to Bromfield, who hails from Jamaica and is a prominent track and field athlete.

Bromfield’s ecstatic “Yes!” was followed by a loving kiss and a show of her sparkling engagement ring. The happy couple, who have been dating since 2022, took to social media to share their joy, with Bromfield exclaiming “ENGAGED” in a celebratory video featuring loved ones.
The engagement comes on the heels of their participation in the 2024 Paris Games. Lyles, a two-time Olympian, took home gold in the men’s 100-meter and bronze in the men’s 200-meter. Unfortunately, his Olympic journey was cut short due to COVID-19. Bromfield, who previously won a bronze medal in the women’s 4×400-meter relay at the Tokyo Games in 2021, did not medal in Paris. Despite the challenges faced, Lyles publicly supported Bromfield, calling her a survivor in the face of criticism from her home country.
Lyles took to Instagram in August to praise Bromfield’s resilience, stating, “This woman has been attacked by people who have never met her, heard her name before, never seen her smile, or heard what she believes in. But she keeps moving forward, knowing that God will always make a way. That’s why God keeps blessing her! Bromfield acknowledged his support with gratitude, expressing appreciation for his unwavering encouragement long before they began dating.”
Following the intensity of the Olympics, the couple took some time for themselves. Their post-Olympic adventures also included attending New York Fashion Week, experiencing the U.S. Open in Queens, and traveling to Arizona, where they caught a Cardinals game.
Lyles previously revealed that he and Bromfield met on social media in 2017, but their first date didn’t go so well and they decided to remain friends. That is, until 2022, when Lyles — who won gold for Team USA in the men’s 100-meter final at the Paris Olympics— decided to give romance another shot and asked Bromfield out again. Since then, the pair have been inseparable.
