OnlyFans model, Sophie Rain, who claims to be a Christian and a virgin, stated she believes God is “happy” with her choice to share X-rated content on the adult site. Rain, 20, clams to have earned $43 million on the platform. Rain’s claims to the Christian faith have been met with criticism given the pornographic nature of her work, but she remains unabashed. “”I’m very strong. I have a very close relationship with my church and I love God. I believe that he will forgive your sins for anything, and I think that he’s happy that I’m successful,” she told Fox News.

Rain isn’t able to attend church in person very often but makes sure to tune in online. “I do a little video call because I’m currently living in Miami, but I used to live in Tampa, and that’s my home church. I love that church so much and… my pastor that is there. I can’t listen to another pastor,” she said. She shared that “personal boundaries” and “morals” have kept her from getting lost in the industry. “You have got to have morals or else you’re going to get lost in the industry. That’s just what happens. It’s really easy to listen to what someone else says and listen to them and try to follow what they do, but you have got to stay true to yourself,” she said. She also pushed back against claims that she is a “porn star.” “Essentially, there’s just this big misconception on OnlyFans that you are labeled as a porn star, but I’m still a virgin. I keep my content on OnlyFans very reserved, and you can still make money from doing all of these things,” she said.

She acknowledged the criticism she receives and stated she is willing to listen, even if she doesn’t agree. “I listen and I take in their criticism, and sometimes I don’t believe it, but I’ll just sit there and listen to them because it’s nice to have someone to talk to and hear another view on what I’m doing, so I can work on being better.” She then stressed again the importance of being “true to yourself.” “And as long as you have that security, you’re going to be good in this industry and you’re going to be successful,” she added.

Her social media critics, however, have been quick to point out the disconnect between proclaiming a Christian faith and pursuing a career that earns its money on lust. “So many news outlets and influencers are reporting that Sophie Rain, who made tens of millions from OnlyFans, is actually a devout Christian and a virgin—showing that you can sell pictures of your body and not be unfaithful to Christ or be ashamed by it while making lots of money,” wrote social media influencer Ian Miles Cheong. “I wonder how many young women who are struggling financially are now signing up to model on OnlyFans because of this.”

Christian apologist and YouTuber Allen Parr addressed Rain’s Christian claims. “God will allow you to sin you’re a Christian, he just won’t let you enjoy it,” Parr said of Rain’s claims that “the Lord’s very forgiving.” He warned against the tendency to “presume upon the grace of God.” He stated that Rain’s claims of leaning on God’s forgiveness showed that she is aware she is sinning but refusing to give up on it. He pointed at Matthew 6:24, saying that “No one can serve to masters.” “You can’t consistently honor God and follow Jesus, and be on platforms like OnlyFans,” he concluded.  He did state, however, that Rain’s salvation is “God’s business.”
