The actor captioned the video on twitter with “Sending love and peace to everyone around the world on this blessed Palm Sunday. #staysafe #family #grateful #humble #faith.”
The video received over one million views across social media, with thousands of fans leaving uplifting comments, prayers, and praises.
Wahlberg was raised catholic and has publicly expressed his faith in recent years. His wife, Rhea Durham ,converted to Catholicism prior to the couple’s wedding.
In 2018, Wahlberg revealed his daily prayer routine which involved the actor getting up at 2:30 a.m. for prayer.
“Being a Catholic is the most important aspect of my life,” he said. “The first thing I do when I start my day is, I get down on my hands and knees and give thanks to God. Whenever I go outside of my house, the first thing I do is stop at the church.”
This wasn’t the first time the actor emphasized the importance of his faith. Back in 2010, Wahlberg revealed to The Catholic Herald that once he started focusing on his faith, wonderful things started happening to him, and he doesn’t mean professionally.
“I want to serve God and to be a good human being and to make up for the mistakes I made….That’s what I’m praying for and I recommend it to anybody.”
As the world continues to panic in response to the global pandemic that continues to claim lives by the thousands, Wahlberg’s emotional message sent comfort and a reminder to all that a lot can happen in seven days.
