Rapper DMX held a Bible study on Instagram over the weekend. During the live broadcast, he urged his fans to accept Jesus in their hearts.

The “X Gon’ Give It to Ya” rapper said he woke up earlier in the day with “chills” and felt led to talk to his fans about Scripture.

“Get into the Word,” DMX said to the 14,000-plus fans who tuned in.

During the Instagram broadcast he read from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, Ecclesiastes 3:16-17 and part of Ecclesiastes 4.

“The best thing that we can hope for – the most important thing we can hope or pray for or ask for – is that our desires coincide with God’s will,” he said.

DMX then read Ecclesiastes 3:5 and shared that there will be a “time for embracing and a time for avoiding embraces.” He then paused to reflect on how these words related to the current pandemic.

DMX encouraged fans to learn to pray and not just rely on the prayer of others.

“Your own prayer will do a lot better than someone else praying for you,” he said.

In reference to the current lockdown, he said, “God is giving you the time…to get closer to Him.”

He finally encouraged his fans to receive Christ, ““Whoever hasn’t given your life to Jesus yet, whoever hasn’t surrendered all the way … I’m going to walk you through that right now.”

DMX closed his live with a prayer.

The rapper was spotlighted last year for delivering a “morning prayer” during Kanye West’s Sunday Service. During his prayer, he touched on a few things, specifically blessings, accepting Jesus, shooting down the devil and being highlighy favored by God.

DMX gained popularity in the late ‘90s and ‘00s, popularly known  for his raw, explicit musical content. He won two American Music Awards and was nominated for three Grammy Awards.

The rapper has been through many trials, including drug addiction and a tax evasion case, all situations that have brought him closer to God.
