Hollywood couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have tied the knot in Las Vegas.

Affleck and Lopez were engaged in the early 2000s before ending the relationship that would keep them apart for 17 years. Lopez, 52, has said things are very different this time around with Affleck, 49.

“We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things.”

Lopez shares 14-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Affleck has three children, Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10, with actress and ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

Lopez continued, “It’s a beautiful outcome that this has happened in this way at this time in our lives where we can really appreciate and celebrate each other and respect each other. We always did, but we have even more of an appreciation because we know that life can take you in different directions.”

The couple wed during an intimate and small ceremony in Las Vegas. Lopez confirmed the marriage in a fan newsletter.

“Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world,” Lopez wrote. “We barely made it to the little white wedding chapel by midnight. They graciously stayed open late a few minutes, let us take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to show, that cost extra, and he was in bed).”

Lopez opted for a dress she wore in a previous movie, and Affleck grabbed a suit from his closet.

“We read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives,” she wrote. “In the end, it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined.”

The perfect ending for the pair nearly 20 years in the making, fans were likely ecstatic to see Bennifer finally get hitched.

Lopez and Affleck met in December 2001 on the set of their rom-com Gigli. The pair played criminals stuck on a job together that forces the duo to become friends. By November 2002, they were engaged but would later post-pone their September 2003 wedding because of the “excessive media attention.” The couple called it quits altogether in January 2004. But their story has a happy ending as love prevailed and through having children, failed marriages and lots of rehabilitation for Affleck, the couple finally found their way back to each other.

In April 2022, a tear-stricken Affleck proposed to Lopez while she was taking a bubble bath.

“I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes, smiling and crying at the same time, trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years, this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless and he said, ‘is that a yes?’ I said YES, of course that’s a YES,” Lopez added in her newsletter.

As the saying goes, “if you love somebody, let them go. if they return, they were always.” How beautiful to see this couple finally get their happy ending.
