The 2024 presidential election is finally at an end, with Donald Trump celebrating a resounding and decisive victory. To date, The Associated Press has president-elect Trump at 295 electoral votes to Kamala Harris’s 226, with Nevada and Arizona still in play but both leaning to Trump. The Republicans also have taken the majority in the Senate, with 52 seats secured for the GOP while still awaiting results from Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Arizona. Republicans may also maintain control of the House, giving Republicans an edge in executing Trump’s agenda when he takes office in January. Even more, the president-elect appears to have snapped up the popular vote as well, something he didn’t achieve in 2016.

Trump issued his victory speech early in the morning on Wednesday from West Palm Beach, FL. After thanking his supporters, he reflected on the momentous occasion. “This was a movement like nobody’s ever seen before. And frankly this was, I believe, the greatest political movement of all time. There’s never been anything like this in this country and maybe beyond.” He called his future presidency “a golden age for America.” He reflected on the challenges his candidacy faced, including the attempt on his life in Butler, PA. “Many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason. And that reason was to save our country and to restore America to greatness, and now we are going to fulfill that mission together. We’re going to fulfill that,” he promised. “The task before us will not be easy, but I will bring every ounce of energy, spirit and fight that I have in my soul to the job entrusted to me.”

Evangelicals, who showed up in force to vote for Trump, reacted to the win. Franklin Graham reacted to the win on X, congratulating the president-elect. “Congratulations to

@realDonaldTrump on being elected the 47th president of the United States of America! I pray that you will look to God every day for His guidance and wisdom,” wrote Graham. “The decisiveness of this election is such an answer to prayer. My worst fear was this thing dragging on for months. Thank you, God!” wrote Christian podcaster Allie Beth Stuckey. Worship leader Sean Feucht posted to X during the acceptance speech, celebrating the victory. “We stood in that official campaign HQ representing the millions of prayer warriors and worshipers around the world who PRAYED this moment into reality!” he wrote. “HISTORY BELONGS TO THE INTERCESSORS!!! Worship broke out last night in the room after we won! God was exalted! America was saved! God is not finished writing the story of our nation and we aren’t giving up!”
