When we first watched this extraordinary video, we had to share it with you.

In the video, Jonathan, an 8-month-old boy, just had his cochlear implant activated by a doctor. 

Jonathan is sucking on his pacificer when his implant is turned on so he would hear for the first time.  When his mom says, “Hi, Jonathan,” the baby’s face immediately lights up in recognition and a wonderful smile transforms his face.  For the first time, mommy and baby bond on an auditory level, deepening their connection to each other. What a wonderful moment of joy and discovery!

As Jonathan’s dad says, “This is what we call a late Christmas present.”
