I’m a big fan of anyone who uses their star power for good. Recently, I highlighted celebrities like Justin Bieber and others who help promote good causes. I just heard about this and wanted to share.

Recent BMI “Songwriter of the Year” winner TobyMac lead “Team TobyMac” in the Country Music Half Marathon last week in Nashville, TN, part of the larger Powered by Hope half marathon team. Team TobyMac brought in more than $100,000 to help support the education provided at New Hope Academy in Franklin, TN. Powered by Hope team members were on a mission to turn racial division, class segregation and spiritual poverty into community, possibility and vision.

Kudos to TobyMac! Now that’s some good news. Here’s a man living out the lyrics of his songs.
