Babies are extraordinary creatures. They may not know exactly what’s going on around them, but they’ll copy what they see others doing so they can feel like they belong. For example, one baby girl saw others worshipping in church and decided to join. “Duck Dynasty” star Sadie Robertson Huff recently shared an adorable video of her baby daughter Honey delightfully raising her hands during worship. This scene gave Huff “overwhelming joy and awe.”
Huff wrote on Instagram, “I watched her as she watched every hand go up around her as people raised their hands in a posture of pouring out their heart to God. I could see the curiosity in her eyes.” According to Huff, Honey seemed unsure about what everyone else was doing, but the 9-month-old began studying them and started taking part in praising.

Huff went on to say Honey became more confident when Huff and her husband, Christian, raised their hands. From then on, she said, “this girl worshipped” and even had both of her hands up by the end. The former TV star used this adorable moment to discuss the importance of praise and worship more generally.
Huff said it could be “intimidating,” “confusing,” and “awkward” to turn to the Lord in such a vulnerable way; she said it’s essential and can strengthen one’s relationship with God. She went on to say, “When you experience a glimpse of the goodness of God, you can’t help but express yourself in such a way that reflects your heart’s gratitude. You don’t care about what other people think. You worship because despite how troubled the world is, this king is your HOPE. And for that hope, my hands will be lifted high.”
The video has accumulated more than 387,000 likes, with celebrities and fans weighing in on Honey’s worship session. Author and speaker Priscilla Shirer wrote, “This baby is about to make me go into a full-on Holy Ghost dance over here! WORSHIP HIM, Honey!!!!!!!” Shelley Giglio, the wife of pastor Louie Giglio, added, “So good!! Lead on, Honey!”
Huff ended the post with 1 Timothy 2:8, which reads, “Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.” Praise and worship are an essential part of the church experience, one that people often take for granted. It’s a time when you can come to God through song and thank Him for all of His blessings. The most adorable part of this story is that Honey just wanted to feel included with what she saw everyone else doing. She didn’t know what was happening, but she wanted to be part of it.
That’s another beautiful thing about God and the church experience; you’re never too young to experience God and marvel in His wonders. Even though Honey is only 9-months-old, she got to experience and participate in praise and worship, perhaps thanking God for His blessings in her way. When Honey gets older, her mother will likely share this video with her, and they can reminisce on the time that baby Honey worshipped God while in church.
