In a viral TikTok video, Megan Elizabeth shares a sweet text conversation between her and her grandpa where he asks her to come over for a sleepover. Twenty-nine-year-old Megan grew up in Illinois right across the street from her grandparents, forming a special bond with them. Her grandmother passed away from Alzheimer’s a few years back, but her 92-year-old grandfather is still with us and just as close to his granddaughter as ever. With his health declining, the two have been spending a lot of time together.

In the TikTok video, Megan shared the heartwarming texts between her and her grandpa coordinating a sleepover. Her grandpa first wrote, “Hi Megan it’s grandpa. Would you like to come over and have a sleepover? I haven’t been feeling well and miss you. We can order food and watch a mystery show. Love, grandpa.” Megan responded saying, “Yes! I’ll be over around 7! Would you like me to get you something from the store or anything for dinner?” He responded, “Could you pick up applesauce?” her grandfather wrote back. “The cinnamon kind. And if you go somewhere with mash potatoes, I would like that because I have no teeth and can only eat soft things. Ha. Love you, Grandpa.” He followed up with one more text saying, “Can you bring me strawberry ice cream too?” Megan answered, saying, “Okay! I will see you soon.”

That night, the pair ate the goodies that Megan brought over while they watched a mystery show before her grandpa got up to make a bed for her. He even woke up at 5:30 a.m. the next morning to see her before she left for work. Megan shared in the caption, saying, “I am thankful for my grandpa, and he will never understand how much love he truly has shown me. And more importantly, the love he showed my grandma while she was alive. I believe in love and loyalty because of this man. He is my hero.”
