Actor Chris Pratt recently opened up about meeting his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, and his journey to Jesus. During a recent appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show” to promote his new film, “The Super Mario Bros,” Pratt discussed his low point before meeting Katherine Schwarzenegger. The couple married in 2019 and have two daughters.
Sharing that he used to steal glances at her at church before they met, Pratt said, “You kind of don’t want to be like, ‘Whoa, who is that?’ at church, you know what I mean? But I was kind of sneaking some glances, and I was like, ‘Who is that? Anyway, what am I doing? Come on; I’m broken, help me,’” Pratt told actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore.
Pratt, a proud Christian, also discussed how God saved him during a low point. He said, “There was a moment in my life that I was really struggling and felt really broken.” He added, “My own journey, finding a higher power and leaning on that and being like, ‘please save me,’ and then feeling saved. And then shortly later finding the woman of my dreams and being like,’ This is, wow, this feels great.’”
Pratt also said, “It’s all about timing and, you know? It’s all… there’s a perfect plan out there for you. And I think you just gotta have faith. And if you have, the minute you have faith, it falls into place.” Pratt has always been open about his Christian faith. One of his most memorable public declarations was at the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards, where he told the audience that God loved them, referencing Christ’s atoning death.
Pratt told the audience, “People are going to tell you that you’re perfect just the way that you are. You’re not. You’re imperfect. You always will be, but there’s a powerful force that designed you that way, and if you’re willing to accept that, you will have grace. And grace is a gift. And like the freedom that we enjoy in this country, that grace was paid for with somebody else’s blood.”
Pratt reflected on his speech earlier this year on Instagram, saying that he “wouldn’t change a thing.” Pratt has starred in numerous big-name films, like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy series and the Jurassic World trilogy.
