Six-year-old Stella has gone viral on TikTok after she dressed up as Dolly Parton for “book character” day in her first grade class. Stella’s mom, Dana Troglen, posted a video of Stella in her costume to TikTok where is has gained millions of views. The video consisted of Stella, in her sparkly dress and blonde wig, with Parton’s hit, “9 to 5” playing in the background. Stella’s mom told Fox News that she she has been a lifelong fan of the singer and even remembers dressing up as Dolly Parton when she was a young girl. Troglen recalled even working at the Grand Ole Opry venue before shifting to radio, where she has interviewed Parton. “Dolly is everything that everyone thinks about her and more,” recalled Troglen.
The book that Stella brought to school with her to accompany her and her costume was “My Little Golden Book About Dolly Parton” by Deborah Hopkinson, which is a short biography about the iconic country singer. Troglen noted that some kids at school were not too nice to Stella about her costume, but she reminded her not to worry what other people think. “When Stella dressed up as Dolly at school, some kids were really ugly about it…when she came home I said, ‘It’s just like when Dolly wrote the song coat of many colors and went to school and people made fun of her, and she didn’t care,'” she said. “She is a good example of not caring about what anyone thinks of you.” Troglen spoke about how much of an inspiration Parton has been to her as she parents her daughters saying, “Everything that she does, and her qualities is what I try to instill in my girls like be yourself, stay true to yourself, don’t care what other people think.”
