Katharine McPhee and David Foster’s 2-year-old son Rennie has impressed his family with his drumming skills, following in his parent’s musical footsteps. In the video that McPhee posted to TikTok and Foster posted to Instagram, Rennie can be seen showing his parents his drumming skills on his personalized red drum set.

In the video, you can hear McPhee encourage her son by saying, “Keep going!” Foster captioned the Instagram video, “❗️ Drumming into the new year ❗️#still2yearsold,” while tagging a few famous drummers such as Blink-182’s Travis Barker. Meanwhile, McPhee captioned her TikTok video, “my 2 year old baby is a genius! ?” She added in the comments, “like what?! ???,”

Many of the pair’s famous friends commented on the video, impressed by little Rennie’s talent. “WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!,” Charlie Puth wrote. “Whoa! That’s incredible and so cute!” Jennifer Love Hewitt wrote, while Eric Stonestreet added, “This is so far beyond amazing.” America’s Got Talent judge Howie Mandel commented, “Someones got talent.”

McPhee and Foster first met on American Idol in 2006 when McPhee was a contestant and Foster was a guest mentor. They became friends, Foster even playing piano at McPhee’s first wedding, until rumors swirled in 2017 that the pair had a romantic relationship. They made their red carpet debut as a couple in 2018 and tied the knot a year later in 2019. In 2021, they welcomed their son Rennie David. While appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show, McPhee spoke about the possibly of her and Foster growing their family more. “I would love to have another baby, but we’ll see,” the singer said. “We’re not in any crazy rush, but I hope so,” she continued, before adding, “I love being a mom, I really love it.”
