Jason Kelce might not consider himself a runner, but he hit the road recently to raise money for a good cause. The veteran Philadelphia Eagles center participated in the 16th annual Mike’s Seafood 5K Run/Walk for Autism in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, to raise money for autism. He finished the race shortly after the 43-minute mark.

According to Nicholas Huba of the Press Atlantic City, the yearly event “raises money for the families of children with special needs, autism support groups and special services schools.” The cause is important to Kelce and his family as he, his wife, Kylie, and his mother, Donna, have all been involved with the Eagles Autism Foundation since it was founded in 2019.

Kelce is well known in the Sea Isle community as he has served as a guest bartender at one of the local restaurants the past three summers to raise money for the Eagles Autism Foundation, according to Huba.

Kelce hasn’t officially announced his retirement from the NFL, though ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported in January that the Super Bowl champion and seven-time Pro Bowler informed his teammates that he would be hanging up the cleats. If the 36-year-old is retiring, it’s probably safe to say he’ll continue to make an impact in the community well beyond his playing days.
