In the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, a Florida woman is overwhelmed with emotion while thanking a neighbor for saving her life.
In a clip shared by Fox News, the woman recounts how, while trying to reach a neighbor’s house, floodwaters unexpectedly surged around her. As the water rushed toward her, a man named Roy quickly came to her rescue and pulled her to safety inside his house. “He had no idea who I was. His name was Roy. Thank you for saving my life, Roy. I almost died,” she said.
Hurricane Milton made landfall October 9th as a “dangerous Category 3” storm near Siesta Key, on Florida’s central west coast, the National Hurricane Center said. Milton had sustained winds of 120 mph at landfall, but its strength diminished to Category 1 as it moved inland across the state. The storm dropped more than 18 inches of rain on St. Petersburg, representing a more than 1-in-1,000-year rainfall event for the area.
