The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) announced Friday that Betty White, the beloved television icon known for her warmth, wit, and kindness, will be featured on a commemorative Forever Stamp in 2025. This honor celebrates not only her legendary career but also her enduring impact on generations of fans and her compassionate spirit, deeply rooted in her faith.

White, best known for her roles in The Golden Girls, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and Boston Legal, passed away in 2021, just weeks shy of her 100th birthday. Over her seven-decade career, White captured hearts with her impeccable comedic timing and genuine connection to her audience. She also lived out her Christian values, embodying the call to love others through her philanthropy and advocacy.

In its announcement, the USPS described White as an “icon of American television” who “shared her wit and warmth with viewers for seven decades.” The commemorative stamp, designed by Greg Breeding and based on a vibrant 2010 photograph by Kwaku Alston, features White’s radiant smile against a purple background. Artist Dale Stephanos created a digital illustration that reflects her joyful personality and enduring charm.

“I’d love to send a letter back to my 18-year-old self with this stamp on it and tell him that everything is going to be OK,” Stephanos shared on social media, expressing his admiration for White.

While White was celebrated for her comedic brilliance, her life was also marked by her compassion and steadfast faith in God. Raised in a Christian household, White often credited her faith as a guiding force in her life and career. She demonstrated these values through her lifelong advocacy for animal welfare, a cause close to her heart. Her commitment to caring for God’s creation reflected her belief in stewardship and kindness.

White’s example reminds Christians of the importance of using one’s talents and platform to glorify God and serve others. Whether through her groundbreaking roles or her generosity, she left a legacy of love and gratitude that continues to inspire.

The USPS stamp is part of a series that includes other notable releases for 2025, such as a Black Heritage series stamp honoring music legend Allen Toussaint, a love-themed stamp featuring Keith Haring’s artwork, and stamps celebrating Lunar New Year and baby wild animals.

Although the exact release date of White’s stamp has not been announced, the anticipation highlights the deep affection many still hold for her. For fans and believers alike, this tribute serves as a tangible reminder of a life lived with grace, humor, and faith.
