Atlanta Falcons punter Bradley Pinion isn’t just making an impact on the field this season; he’s using his platform in the NFL to make a difference for those most in need. The 30-year-old veteran is helping lead the Falcons toward a potential NFC South title, but his heart beats for a greater mission—serving Christ by serving others.
In partnership with his wife, Kaeleigh, Pinion launched the “Punts for Purpose” initiative to support mothers and babies living in extreme poverty. The couple has teamed up with Compassion International on a project called “The Fight for First,” which aims to raise $7.5 million to fund 500 survival centers by the end of the year. These centers provide essential services like prenatal care, nutritious food, clean water, medical treatment, and more.
For each punt that Pinion lands inside the 20-yard line this season, the couple is donating $1,000 to the cause. The campaign has already raised over $6.8 million, funding 455 centers.
Speaking about their partnership with Compassion International, Pinion explained the driving force behind their commitment.
“What we loved about Compassion is that in their slogan, it says ‘In Jesus Name.’ Me and my wife are big believers, and we live our lives through faith. Finding an organization that also lives their mission through faith was really important to us,” he told Fox News Digital.
Pinion launched the initiative last season, initially expecting limited participation from fellow punters. To his surprise, nearly half of the NFL’s punters joined in, raising over $150,000 collectively.
“It was super humbling to see guys going alongside a cause so near and dear to us,” he shared.
For Pinion, football isn’t just a career—it’s a calling. Being recognized as the Falcons’ 2023 Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee for his charitable efforts was an honor, but he sees it as a natural extension of the gifts God has given him.
“Football pays the bills and gives me a blessed life, but the platform football has given my family—you can’t compare that to anything else,” Pinion said.
“I feel like my purpose is to use that platform to serve Christ and to serve people in need. Whether it’s children, people in poverty, or animals, I believe that’s why I was given these talents and this platform.”
“The Fight for First” is well on its way to achieving its ambitious goal, already funding life-changing survival centers across the globe. These centers offer life-saving resources and hope to mothers and babies in vulnerable communities.
Pinion’s work powerfully reminds us how God can use our talents and careers as tools for His kingdom. As he continues to make plays on the field, his ultimate goal remains clear—to glorify Christ through service.
