When actor Peter Rini heard the sound of cars colliding and a woman’s scream, he also saw a van hit a telephone pole and the driver dash out of it on foot.
With quick thinking, Rini ran after the driver, a suspected thief, and tackled him to the ground. Rini held the man down and helped contain the scene until police arrived to make an arrest.
Rini, an actor who has had cameos on all three “Law & Order” franchises along with “ER” and “Sex and the City” was in Seattle on February 8 to promote a production of the musical “South Pacific.” He was honored by Seattle police on Wednesday for his heroism.
